Mayor Grant called the electronic meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and confirmed a quorum was present via electronic participation.

To proceed into a Closed Meeting of Municipal Council to discuss the following matters:

  • Beaverton Supportive Housing
  • Brock Community Health Centre Site Plan Agreement

Councillor Campbell left the Closed meeting at 11:45 a.m.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council proceed into a Closed Meeting of Municipal Council at 9:06 a.m. to deal with the following matters:

    • To discuss litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board and advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose, pursuant to Sections 239(2)(e) and 239(2)(f) of the Municipal Act, with respect to Beaverton Supportive Housing
    • To discuss advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose, pursuant to Sections 239(2)(f) of the Municipal Act, with respect to the Brock Community Health Centre Site Plan Agreement

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council rise & report from Closed Meeting of Municipal Council at 12:26 a.m.; and,

    THAT Council endorse all direction provided to staff, at the Closed Meeting of Municipal Council held on August 11, 2021.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council direct staff to amend the Brock Community Health Centre Site Plan Agreement by removing the two churches (Cannington Baptist and Trinity United) from being signatories to the said site plan agreement.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT email correspondence 1113/21 from Sondra Sullivan, received on August 4, 2021, concerning supportive housing in Beaverton be received for information; and,

    THAT Council direct staff to issue a media release to all residents of Brock with respect to the ongoing legal negotiations with Durham Region with respect to the Beaverton Supportive Housing Proposal.
