It is important to begin each public gathering with a Land and Territorial Acknowledgement, to recognize the Indigenous people for being good stewards of the land and environment, here where we are meeting today. The Township of Brock has traditionally been a hunting and fishing ground for First Nations people. We reside on and benefit from the Williams Treaty Territories, on the land of the Mississaugas and Chippewas. May we share the land as long as the sun rises, the grass grows and river flows.

Regional Councillor Jubb advised that, while he is a member of the Harold Lodwick Citizenship Award Committee and item 8.2 on the agenda is from this organization, he declared a non-qualifying interest in the agenda item under the spirit of the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act Sec.1.1(4) and Sec.4(j) and 4(k) and would be participating in discussion and voting on the matter.

Councillor Doble declared a pecuniary interest with respect to By-law 3298-2024 advising that the Zoning By-law Amendment applicant is a family member and that she would not comment or vote on the matter.
